| The River of God | |||
| Between Genesis and Revelation is the rich story of God's beginning for mankind, and God's conclusion for His true people. In all of this the River figures largely. Also included in this book is The Vision of the Power of Eden. A fascinating theme throughout the Bible is the one written about in this book, namely The River of God. It is instructive to note that much of what is described in the first few chapters of Genesis is present in the last chapters of the Book of the Revelation. Of course it needs teasing out, but between Genesis and Revelation is the rich story of God’s beginning for mankind, and God’s conclusion for His true people. In all of this the River figures largely. We are all delighted by rivers, even if sometimes they are frightening when in flood, and that flood rushes with force upon us. Sweet and pure water is at a premium today. How many there are who have come to the River of God and found it so wonderfully life-giving. This is also what the book is about. Not only is it good to drink of the water of life, but it is even better to know that a river of life can issue from within us and flow to the world as it is today, and in many respects it is so very needy. We are sure that this slim book will be stimulating to those who read it, and that its subject will be opened widely for further research and enjoyment. |
