| The Revelation of St. John the Divine: Commentary & Essays on the Book of Revelation | ||
| Many readers of the Bible would like to understand prophecy, its function and its power, yet as they are often put off from reading books such as the revelation because of strange and bizarre interpretations. Whilst this book is a prophecy, it is primarily for understanding what God is about in history, and is a remarkable source of both encouragement, practical living and devotional life. Only when we examine it thoughtfully do we get the full biblical picture of history and of God's control and direction of creation and His people. Hence we all need to read its text. Indeed, within that text there is a promise of blessing to all who read it. It is no exaggeration to say that without this Book the Scriptures are incomplete and so our understanding will be deficient.
